Course Description

Have you got a passion you want to share with others? Looking to increase your confidence and career prospects? If your answer to these questions is ‘yes’ then learning to teach is for you! This 17-week course which is accredited at Level 3 will give you the skills and knowledge to gain a teaching qualification for teaching adults. The course covers all the essential elements of teaching adults in a community setting including roles and responsibilities, legal requirements, creating session plans & schemes of work, the theory behind teaching, facilitating groups, teaching styles and activities, delivering assessments and so much more. Please note that this is an accredited course and requires a long commitment including the completion of assessments each week in addition to the teaching sessions. You must keep up with assessments in order to keep your place on the course. This is a qualification for teaching adults in a community or adult learning environment. This does not qualify you to teach in schools. There will be no sessions held during the school holidays. You must commit to all of the sessions. Priority on this course is given to Greenwich residents. If you are not a Greenwich resident, please email training@gcda.org.uk. Contact us at training@gcda.org.uk if you have any queries. Due to large numbers of people booking onto our courses and not turning up, we are now taking a £10 deposit for each course to help ensure attendance. You will be eligible to get the deposit back if you attend every session. Or, if you can’t attend, you must: · Email or contact the tutor or admin team on Training@gcda.org.uk to let them know you can’t make it. · Still attend at least 70% of the course. Do not book on if you think you cannot attend 70% of the course. · You must give 24 hours notice to be eligible for the refund · If you don’t show up and don’t get in touch, you will lose your deposit. If leaving a £10 deposit is a barrier because of financial difficulties, please contact training@gcda.org.uk to talk to us about this You must request the return of the deposit.
